We have recently been notified by Oscar Health that they will be pulling out of the New York small group health insurance market. Below is the statement released by Oscar Health.
After careful consideration, Oscar has made the decision not to renew our Small Group plans in New York as of September 1, 2024. Oscar Health has proudly served Small Group members in New York since 2017. We have valued our time in the market and the key partners we’ve worked with. We made this decision after a long and thorough evaluation process – and it will not impact our New York IFP plans.
We will continue to provide coverage for New York Small Group services through the end of each member’s policy, and specific timing is dependent on each groups’ enrollment date.
Key dates to know for New York Small Group:
- Oscar will no longer enroll new small groups in our New York Small Group plans beginning April 1, 2024.
- The last date for an employer to start a new policy with Oscar will be March 15, 2024.
- Oscar will not renew our Small Group plans in New York beginning September 1, 2024.
- The last NY Small Group plans renewed will be those with effective dates of August 15, 2024.
- The last date of member coverage in the market will be August 14, 2025.
