About EmblemHealth
EmblemHealth is a local, neighborhood health plan that has served the New York City area and surrounding communities for more than 75 years. They are one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health plans, serving 3.1 million people who live and work across the New York tri-state area. EmblemHealth was formed from the merger of two companies, Group Health Incorporated (GHI) and Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York (HIP), both of which have local roots and share a rich health care history.
“I am happy to see Emblem coming back into the downstate NY market with their large Prime Network products in 2018. Emblem has been a major player in the group health insurance market in the past, and I look forward to them providing needed options to small businesses looking for a large provider network and competitive pricing in the NY and Long Island insurance markets.” Jim Eckardt, President, Peak Advisors, Inc.
